Very smooth running

The advantage of machining all sides of the Habix® coupling is the precision of the running characteristics and increased service life. Habix® couplings are puncture-proof up to the breaking torque of the cast-iron transmission cams and therefore offer the greatest possible operational reliability.

Elasticity

The coupling spider is available in hardness 92 Shore A, color white and 98 Shore A, color red. It is characterized by wear resistance as well as resistance to oil, ozone and ageing. The elasticity of the coupling effectively dampens shocks, torsional vibrations and noise. The elastic element, the coupling star, is designed to compensate for radial, axial and angular movements between the two coupling halves.

No load problems

Due to the fixed position of the coupling star, the deformability in the axial direction is free, so that no harmful axial forces can act on the machine bearings even with changing torque. The coupling spider of the Habix® coupling can withstand continuous loads of up to 80 °C. When used at low temperatures, -20 °C is permissible. The flexible Habix® coupling is pluggable and does not place high demands on alignment accuracy.
